Deborah Regina Porter Ashford, age 57, of Independence passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 at her home. She was born in Wythe County on June 20, 1953. She is survived by her husband, Gary D. Ashford of the home; father, Ralph L. Porter & mother, Helen Irene Akers Porter of Galax; brother, Anthony Lee Porter of Wytheville. At the families request there will be no services held at this time.. Twin County Funerals is serving the Ashford family.
