Linda Sue Diamond Petty, age 56, of the Baywood Community passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010 at her home.
She was born on April 28, 1954 to William “Pete” and Cora Lee Testerman Diamond in Galax.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Pamela J. Diamond and Teresa L. Diamond; brother, Terry A. Diamond.
She is survived by her husband, David G. Petty of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila M. Goodman and Dirk Hill and Dorie R. and Davey Nichols all of Galax; parents, William “Pete” Diamond and Cora Lee Testerman Diamond of Galax; sisters, Janice D Sample of Newton, N.C. and Cathy L. Adkins of Galax; brother, Eddie Dale Diamond of Galax; five grandchildren, Sierra Nichols, Zaine Goodman, Morgan Nichols, Rylee Goodman, Peyton Sue Hill; two nieces and three nephews also survive.
Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 2pm at Mt. Pisgah Church of Christ with Marvin Williams and Lawrence Warden officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Twin County Funerals.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to be made to the Baywood Search & Rescue Squad at 47 Cross Roads Galax, VA 24333.
The family is gathering at 539 Rock Chimney Road.
Twin County Funerals is serving the Petty family.
